Avoquin cream for external use contains hydroquinone 1.9% (19mg/g), in a 50ml tube. Used for gradual lightening of hyperpigmented skin areas.
Indications
- Gradual lightening of skin hyperpigmentation, such as melasma, freckles, age spots and other unwanted melanin-pigmented areas.
How to Use
- Before starting, test on a small area of healthy skin and check it over 24 hours. Do not continue if itching, blisters or severe inflammation develops.
- Adults: apply to affected areas and massage thoroughly twice daily, morning and before bed, or as directed by a doctor. Stop if there is no improvement after two months.
- Safety in children aged 12 or under has not been established; use for them only under a doctor's supervision.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to hydroquinone or any ingredient.
- Pregnancy: safety has not been established; use only when clearly necessary.
Warnings & Precautions
- Use broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 15 or higher) or protective clothing and avoid the sun, as the cream contains no sunscreen.
- Hydroquinone may cause gradual blue-black skin darkening; stop treatment and consult a doctor if this occurs.
- Contains sodium metabisulphite, which may cause allergic reactions, including asthma attacks in susceptible people.
- For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes.
- Breastfeeding: use cautiously. Take care with photosensitising medicines.
Common Side Effects
- Dryness and cracking around the nose and beneath the eyes, redness and stinging.
- Allergic contact dermatitis may sometimes occur; stop use and tell a doctor immediately.
Storage
Store below 30 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
