ASPIRIN-C effervescent tablets contain acetylsalicylic acid 400 mg and vitamin C 240 mg per tablet, in a pack of 10 tablets. They relieve pain, reduce fever and have anti-inflammatory effects.
Indications
- Mild to moderate pain such as headache, toothache and menstrual pain.
- Cold-related pain such as sore throat and aching limbs, and fever.
How to Use
- For adults: one or two tablets, repeated as needed every 4–8 hours, with a maximum of 3 doses daily (6 tablets).
- Dissolve in a glass of water and drink promptly. Do not take on an empty stomach.
- Do not use for more than 4 days without consulting a doctor.
- Do not give to adolescents with fever except as directed by a doctor because of the risk of Reye's syndrome. The leaflet dosage applies only to adolescents and adults; do not give to children except as directed by a doctor.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to aspirin, salicylates, vitamin C or anti-inflammatory painkillers.
- Active stomach or duodenal ulcer, a tendency to bleed, liver or kidney failure, or severe heart failure.
- With methotrexate at 15 mg or more per week, and during the last three months of pregnancy.
Warnings & Precautions
- Use cautiously if you have asthma, a previous ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding, or impaired liver or kidney function.
- The risk of bleeding increases with blood thinners, alcohol and corticosteroids. Inform the doctor before surgery.
- Each tablet contains approximately 466 mg of sodium.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: do not take during the first 6 months of pregnancy; consult a doctor. Breastfeeding need not be stopped for short-term use.
Common Side Effects
- Common side effects include heartburn, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
- Stop use and tell a doctor if these occur, immediately if you have black stools or vomit blood.
Storage
Store below 25 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
