Mycoheal 2% Oral Gel contains 2% miconazole nitrate in a 40 g pack. Used for fungal infections of the mouth, throat and oesophagus, with miconazole killing the causative fungus.
Indications
- Fungal infections of the mouth, throat and oesophagus.
How to Use
- Follow the patient leaflet or the pharmacist's instructions.
- For children: follow the patient leaflet and consult a pharmacist.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to miconazole, any gel ingredient or similar antifungals.
- Liver problems.
- Taking certain medicines, including terfenadine, astemizole, mizolastine, cisapride, lovastatin, simvastatin, oral midazolam, triazolam, pimozide, sertindole, quinidine, dofetilide and ergotamine.
Warnings & Precautions
- Tell a doctor before use if taking blood thinners such as warfarin, phenytoin, carbamazepine, sulphonylurea oral diabetes medicines, ciclosporin or tacrolimus; treatment adjustment or blood testing may be needed.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: tell a doctor before use.
- Stop use and consult a doctor if symptoms persist or worsen or new symptoms appear.
Common Side Effects
- Dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, oral discomfort, reflux and an unusual taste.
- Stop use and tell a doctor immediately for sudden swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, difficulty swallowing or breathing, hives, or severe irritation or blisters on skin or in the mouth.
Storage
Do not store above 30°C. Keep out of children's reach.
