Dulcolax gastro-resistant coated tablets contain bisacodyl 5mg, in a pack of 40. A stimulant laxative that promotes bowel movement, used for short-term relief of occasional constipation.
Indications
- Short-term relief of occasional constipation.
How to Use
- Adults: one to two tablets at night; first-time users should begin with one tablet.
- Swallow whole with water without chewing or crushing. Do not consume milk, antacids or proton pump inhibitors within one hour before or after taking it.
- Do not use daily for more than 5 days. Anyone needing a laxative every day should consult a doctor.
- For children: follow the patient leaflet and consult a pharmacist.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to bisacodyl.
- Severe dehydration, bowel obstruction or ileus.
- Appendicitis or severe abdominal pain with nausea and vomiting.
- Inflammation of the bowel.
Warnings & Precautions
- Tell a doctor or pharmacist if you take diuretics, corticosteroids or other laxatives.
- Excessive use may cause fluid and electrolyte imbalance, low potassium and dehydration.
- May cause dizziness or fainting in some people; wait until this passes before driving.
- Does not help with weight loss.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: consult a pharmacist or doctor before use.
Common Side Effects
Common effects include abdominal cramps or pain, diarrhoea and nausea. Stop use and consult a doctor immediately for a severe allergic reaction such as facial or throat swelling or breathing difficulty, colitis or fainting.

Store below 30°C and keep out of reach of children.
