Benzac AC 5% is a topical gel containing 5% benzoyl peroxide, in a 60 g tube. It is used to help treat acne by killing acne-causing bacteria on the skin and opening blocked pores.
Indications
- Helping treat acne.
- Blackheads and whiteheads caused by blocked pores.
How to Use
- For external use only. Apply only to affected areas after washing with a gentle cleanser and drying.
- Start with a thin layer once daily, leave it for two hours, then wash it off. If no discomfort occurs after 3 days, apply in the evening and leave overnight, then twice daily after 7 days if no redness or peeling appears.
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist after one month of use.
- For children: follow the patient leaflet and consult a pharmacist.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to benzoyl peroxide or any gel ingredient.
- Damaged skin.
Warnings & Precautions
- Keep away from the eyes, lips, mouth, corners of the nose and mucous membranes. If contact occurs, rinse with warm water.
- Do not use with other topical acne products unless advised by a doctor or pharmacist. Avoid harsh cleansers and cosmetics containing alcohol.
- Avoid excessive sun or ultraviolet exposure and use a non-greasy sunscreen when needed.
- May bleach clothing, towels and bedding.
- Pregnancy: only when clearly necessary. Breastfeeding: use cautiously and do not apply to the chest.
Common Side Effects
- During the first few weeks: skin tightness, burning, stinging or itching, with mild peeling, redness or dryness.
- Stop using if swelling or skin blisters develop. Tell a doctor if irritation, redness or peeling increases.
Storage
Store below 25 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
