AMYDRAMINE II is a sugar-free syrup containing 2.5 mg of diphenhydramine hydrochloride per 1 ml (12.5 mg per 5 ml), in one 120 ml bottle. Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine and cough suppressant.
Indications
- Temporary relief of cough caused by minor throat and bronchial irritation, such as with a cold or inhaled irritants.
- Temporary relief of sneezing, a runny nose, an itchy nose or throat, and itchy or watery eyes due to hay fever or upper respiratory allergies.
How to Use
- Follow the patient leaflet or the pharmacist's instructions.
- Do not exceed the recommended dose.
- For children: follow the patient leaflet and consult a pharmacist.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Use with any other product containing diphenhydramine, including products applied to the skin.
Warnings & Precautions
- Consult a doctor before use if you have glaucoma, a cough with substantial phlegm, chronic cough associated with smoking, asthma or emphysema, or difficulty urinating due to an enlarged prostate.
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use with sedatives or tranquillisers.
- May cause marked drowsiness, increased by alcohol and sedatives. Avoid alcohol and take care when driving or operating machinery.
- Stop use and consult a doctor if a cough persists for more than a week, recurs or is accompanied by fever, a rash or persistent headache.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: consult a professional before use.
Common Side Effects
- The leaflet lists marked drowsiness. Excitability may occur, particularly in children.
Storage
Store below 30 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
