Benzal 25% is a lotion for external skin use containing 25% benzyl benzoate, in one pack. Used to treat scabies and lice.
Indications
- Treatment of scabies: a persistent itchy rash caused by mites affecting the skin, with itching worse after bathing and at night.
- Treatment of lice (body or head lice).
How to Use
- Follow the patient leaflet or the pharmacist's instructions.
- After every application, bathe thoroughly and change clothing and bedding. Wash all clothing and bedding that contacted the affected person.
- Consult a healthcare professional before use if the head, face or neck is affected.
- For children: follow the patient leaflet and consult a pharmacist.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to benzyl benzoate or any ingredient.
Warnings & Precautions
- Skin may become red and irritated at the application site.
- Close contacts of the affected person must be treated.
- Consult a doctor if there is no improvement.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: consult your doctor or pharmacist before use.
Common Side Effects
- May irritate the eyes and mucous membranes, such as the nose, mouth, lips, ears and genitals.
- Swallowing or excessive skin use may cause involuntary shaking. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if this happens; go to emergency care in severe cases.
Storage
Do not store above 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
