Xylomet Paediatric Nasal Drops contain xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.05%, one pack. Helps open nasal passages and relieve congestion.
Indications
- Nasal congestion, including a blocked nose with a cold.
- Allergic and recurrent rhinitis, including hay fever.
- Sinusitis, to help drainage of secretions.
How to Use
- Follow the patient leaflet or the pharmacist's instructions.
- Children must use only under adult supervision.
- Do not use for children under six. For older children, follow the enclosed leaflet and consult a pharmacist.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to xylometazoline or any ingredient.
- After recent brain surgery through the nose or mouth.
- Narrow-angle glaucoma.
- Chronic dry or atrophic rhinitis.
Warnings & Precautions
- Do not use longer than the leaflet states; overuse may cause nasal blockage to recur or worsen.
- Consult a doctor for high blood pressure, heart disease, overactive thyroid, diabetes, enlarged prostate or pheochromocytoma.
- Do not use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors or within 14 days of stopping them. Consult a doctor with tricyclic or tetracyclic antidepressants or levodopa.
- Do not exceed the recommended dose. Young children are more sensitive to poisoning than adults.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: consult your doctor before use.
Common Side Effects
- Common effects: nasal dryness or irritation, nausea, headache and local burning.
- Stop use and seek immediate medical help for difficulty breathing or swallowing, face or throat swelling, severe itching with rash, or abnormal heartbeat.
Storage
Store below 30 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
