Guide to Henna, Colour Shampoo and Hair-Bleaching Formats

Hair-colour products may come as cream, henna, colour shampoo, or powder with a companion solution. These formats have different instructions and their components are not automatically interchangeable. Compare format, shade number and accessories, and distinguish hair dye from body-hair bleach.

Shade Numbers Are Not a Global System

Write the number and letter as they appear in the name; N4, 4/0 and named shades may belong to different systems. Do not assume that shades from two manufacturers match solely because of a number. Natural brown or black identifies the variant offered, but does not establish the same result on every previous hair colour. Read whether the pack is a complete kit or a single component. Do not replace the companion solution with another brand's product without explicit instructions or change mixing proportions or application time yourself.

Henna and Colour Shampoo

Herbal or henna does not mean there are no other substances or that an allergic reaction is impossible. The full list and pack warnings are the reference. A product called dye shampoo still needs dye instructions and should not be treated like any daily shampoo. Hair-dye safety guidance stresses following the allergy test and instructions even for a previously used product. Do not use hair dye on eyebrows or eyelashes, and keep products away from the eyes and out of children's reach.

Bleaching Is a Different Step

Hair-bleaching cream may come with an activator, while lightening powder and its solution may be intended for head hair according to a specific label. Do not group them as identical replacements or use either on an area for which it is not intended. If the scalp or skin is irritated, stop and seek advice before using chemicals. Keep the pack and leaflet together and follow instructions for discarding leftovers after mixing. Smell or pack colour does not measure strength, and do not increase the time to obtain a new shade.

A Practical Comparison Before Ordering

Before buying a replacement, check a photo of the old pack, its shade number and size, then verify the kit's components. If you need henna in sachets, compare the sachet count and each weight as on the pack. For colour shampoo, focus on the format and official application time rather than ordinary shampoo instructions. For bleaching, check the permitted area and age and the accompanying leaflet. These practical questions prevent confusion between changing colour, cleansing hair and bleaching body hair.
