Adol Extra caplets contain paracetamol 500mg and caffeine citrate 60mg per caplet, in a pack of 24. A mild pain reliever and fever reducer used for most pain and fever conditions.
Indications
- Headache, including migraine, back pain and toothache.
- Rheumatic and menstrual pain.
- Relieving cold, flu and sore-throat symptoms.
How to Use
- Follow the patient leaflet or the pharmacist's instructions.
- Not recommended for children under 12 years.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to paracetamol, caffeine or any tablet ingredient.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding, because of its caffeine content.
Warnings & Precautions
- Do not exceed the specified dose or combine with any other paracetamol-containing medicine; overdose may cause serious liver failure.
- Caution is required with impaired kidney or liver function. Risk is greater in people with alcoholic liver disease.
- Tell a doctor if you take metoclopramide, domperidone, colestyramine, warfarin or flucloxacillin. Not recommended with lithium.
- Avoid excessive coffee, tea and caffeine-containing drinks during use.
- Consult a doctor if symptoms persist, and immediately after an overdose even if you feel well.
Common Side Effects
- Caffeine may cause dizziness, headache, palpitations, insomnia, restlessness, anxiety or stomach upset.
- Very rarely: allergic reactions such as rash or facial swelling, or bronchospasm in people allergic to aspirin.
Storage
Store below 30 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
