Amidol 500 mg tablets contain paracetamol 500 mg per tablet, in a pack of 24. A painkiller used for pain and cold and flu symptoms.
Indications
- Pain, including headache, toothache, backache and menstrual pain.
- Cold and flu symptoms.
How to Use
- For adults: two tablets per dose, swallowed whole with water. Wait at least 4 hours between doses.
- Maximum: 4 doses in 24 hours. See a doctor if needed for more than 3 consecutive days.
- For children: follow the patient leaflet and consult a pharmacist.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to paracetamol or any ingredient of the tablet.
- Children under 10.
Warnings & Precautions
- Consult a doctor before use for severe kidney or liver problems or alcohol-related liver disease. Do not drink alcohol during use.
- Do not take with any other paracetamol-containing medicine, including some cough and cold medicines.
- Tell a doctor if taking warfarin, metoclopramide, domperidone, cholestyramine or flucloxacillin.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: speak to a doctor before use. If needed during pregnancy, use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time.
- Overdose may cause serious liver damage; seek medical help straightaway even if you feel better.
Common Side Effects
- Stop use and see a doctor straightaway for swelling of the face, lips or throat, an itchy skin rash or serious skin reactions.
- Tell a doctor if you develop infections or bruises unusually easily.
Storage
Store below 30 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
