Canesten Cream 1% contains clotrimazole 1% in a 20 g tube. A topical antifungal from the imidazole group targeting the cause of fungal skin infections.
Indications
- Fungal skin infections such as ringworm, athlete's foot and fungal sweat rash.
- Relief of external vulval irritation or irritation of the tip of the penis associated with Candida infection (thrush).
How to Use
- Apply a thin, even layer to the affected area two or three times daily and gently massage.
- Most cases need at least two weeks; treatment may extend to four weeks depending on infection type.
- For children: follow the patient leaflet and consult a pharmacist.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to clotrimazole or any ingredient.
- Nail or scalp infections.
Warnings & Precautions
- For external use only. Do not swallow. If it enters the eyes or mouth, wash immediately with water and consult a doctor.
- May reduce condom and diaphragm effectiveness when applied to genitals. Use an alternative method for at least five days after use.
- Fabrics contacting the cream ignite more easily. Avoid smoking and open flames.
- May be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding after informing a doctor. Wash the nipple area before breastfeeding if applied there.
Common Side Effects
- Itching, rash, burning, redness, peeling or skin irritation may occur after application.
- Stop use and consult a doctor immediately for allergy such as rash, difficulty swallowing or breathing, or swollen lips and face.

Store below 25 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
