Daktarin 2% Cream contains 20 mg miconazole nitrate per 1 g, in one pack. An antifungal eliminating infection-causing fungi and some associated bacteria.
Indications
- Fungal skin and nail infections with associated bacterial infection on hands, feet, the outer ear, trunk or groin.
- Including athlete's foot, groin ringworm, skin-fold inflammation and infected diaper rash.
How to Use
- For adults: apply twice daily to affected skin for skin infections, or once or twice daily to the affected area for nail infections.
- Continue for seven days after skin symptoms resolve or ten days after nail symptoms resolve to prevent recurrence. Wash and dry the area before application and wash hands afterwards.
- For children: follow the patient leaflet and consult a pharmacist.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to miconazole, similar antifungals or any ingredient.
Warnings & Precautions
- For skin use only. Avoid contact with the eyes.
- With oral anticoagulants such as warfarin: stop the cream and consult a doctor for unexpected bleeding or bruising, with INR monitoring by a professional.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: consult your doctor or pharmacist before use.
- Consult a doctor if symptoms persist.
Common Side Effects
- Side effects are usually mild, including application-site burning, irritation, itching or warmth and skin discolouration.
- Stop use and seek immediate medical help for swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, difficulty swallowing or breathing, or hives.
Storage
Store below 25 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
