Decozal 0.1% Nasal Drops contain 0.1% xylometazoline hydrochloride, in one bottle. They open nasal passages by returning swollen blood vessels to normal size and are used to relieve nasal blockage.
Indications
- Nasal congestion and blockage, including colds.
- Allergic and chronic rhinitis, including hay fever.
- Sinusitis.
How to Use
- For adults: 2–3 drops in each nostril up to a maximum of 3 times daily.
- Do not use for more than 7 consecutive days. The bottle is for one person.
- Do not use in children under 12 years old.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to xylometazoline or other decongestants.
- Recent brain or nerve surgery.
- Narrow-angle glaucoma, an enlarged prostate or pheochromocytoma.
- Chronic rhinitis with severe dryness.
- Taking MAOIs within the past 14 days, and children under 12 years old.
Warnings & Precautions
- Consult a doctor before use if you have an overactive thyroid, diabetes, heart disease or high blood pressure, or take tricyclic or tetracyclic antidepressants.
- Prolonged or excessive use may cause blockage to return or worsen.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: consult a doctor before use.
Common Side Effects
Common effects include headache, dry nasal lining, nasal discomfort, nausea and local irritation. Stop use and seek medical help immediately for an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing or swallowing, or swelling of the face or throat.
Storage
Store below 25°C and out of children's reach.
