Gaviscon Peppermint Chewable Tablets contain sodium alginate 250 mg, sodium bicarbonate 133.5 mg and calcium carbonate 80 mg per tablet, in a pack of 16 tablets. They form a protective layer over stomach contents to prevent acid rising into the oesophagus and treat gastro-oesophageal reflux symptoms.
Indications
- Gastro-oesophageal reflux symptoms such as acid regurgitation, heartburn and reflux-related indigestion.
- Symptoms after meals or during pregnancy, and oesophagitis symptoms.
How to Use
- For adults and older people: when symptoms occur, thoroughly chew two to four tablets before swallowing, after meals and at bedtime.
- Consult a doctor if symptoms persist after seven days.
- For children: follow the patient leaflet and consult a pharmacist.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to any medicine ingredient.
Warnings & Precautions
- A four-tablet dose contains 253 mg sodium and some calcium. Consult a doctor if following a diet restricting either, or if you have significant kidney or heart disease.
- Do not take within two hours of other oral medicines, particularly certain antibiotics, iron, digoxin, beta-blockers and thyroid hormones.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: may be used, keeping treatment duration as short as possible.
Common Side Effects
The leaflet lists no common side effects. Very rarely, an allergic reaction may cause rash, itching, difficulty breathing, dizziness or swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat. Stop use and consult a doctor immediately if these occur.

Do not store above 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
