ACC Long effervescent tablets contain acetylcysteine 600mg per tablet in a pack of 10. They loosen thick mucus in the airways and make it easier to cough up.
Indications
- Loosening mucus and making it easier to clear in respiratory conditions involving thick mucus.
How to Use
- Adults: one effervescent tablet once daily, or half a tablet twice daily (600mg per day).
- Dissolve the tablet in a glass of drinking water and drink the entire contents after meals.
- Do not use for children under 14 because of the high active-ingredient strength.
- The duration of use depends on the type and severity of the condition, as directed by a doctor.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to acetylcysteine or any ingredient.
- Children under 14 years.
Warnings & Precautions
- Use cautiously if you have asthma or a current or previous stomach or intestinal ulcer.
- Avoid prolonged use in cases of histamine intolerance.
- Do not combine with cough suppressants without consulting a doctor, because mucus may accumulate.
- Separate it from antibiotics by at least two hours.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: use only if a doctor considers it necessary.
Common Side Effects
- Uncommon effects include headache, tinnitus, a fast heartbeat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, fever, and allergic reactions such as itching and rash.
- Stop use and consult a doctor immediately if new skin or mucosal changes develop, or at the first signs of allergy.
Storage
Store below 25 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
