Locoid Lipocream is a rich cream for skin use, containing 0.1% hydrocortisone butyrate; 30 g tube. It is a moderately potent topical corticosteroid that reduces skin inflammation.
Indications
- Eczema and various types of dermatitis, including atopic eczema, photodermatitis, and irritant or allergic dermatitis.
- Psoriasis on small areas only (scalp, hands and feet), under medical supervision.
How to Use
- Apply a thin layer to the affected skin and massage gently, no more than twice daily.
- Wash your hands after use unless your hands are being treated.
- For children: follow the patient leaflet and consult a pharmacist.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to hydrocortisone butyrate or any ingredient.
- Untreated bacterial, viral (such as herpes or chickenpox), fungal or parasitic skin infections.
- Dermatitis around the mouth, acne and redness of facial skin.
Warnings & Precautions
- Consult your doctor before applying to the face, thin skin, skin folds, large areas or under an airtight dressing. Do not apply to the eyes or eyelids.
- Avoid prolonged use in children. Do not use dressings on infants and children.
- Consult your doctor if vision becomes blurred, the condition worsens or it returns within two weeks of stopping.
- Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless clearly necessary.
Common Side Effects
- Rare: thinning of the skin, bruising, stretch marks, acne, dermatitis around the mouth and changes in skin colour.
- Tell your doctor if the skin condition worsens or the skin becomes red, itchy or irritated.
Storage
Store below 25 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
