Alfacort cream contains hydrocortisone acetate 1% in a 15 g tube. A mild topical corticosteroid that reduces inflammatory skin reactions.
Indications
- Irritant and allergic contact dermatitis.
- Insect bite reactions.
- Mild to moderate eczema.
How to Use
- For adults: apply a small amount to small areas of skin once or twice daily for a maximum of 7 days. See a doctor if the condition does not improve.
- Do not cover the application site with a dressing.
- For children: follow the patient leaflet and consult a pharmacist.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to any ingredient.
- The eyes, face, anal and genital areas.
- Cracked or infected skin, such as impetigo, cold sores, acne, athlete's foot and infected bites.
Warnings & Precautions
- Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding or for children under 10 without medical advice.
- Consult a pharmacist or doctor if the condition worsens during use. If it returns within two weeks of stopping, do not restart without advice.
Common Side Effects
- May cause local skin reactions and blurred vision. See a doctor for blurred vision or any visual disturbance.
- Stopping after prolonged continuous use may cause redness spreading beyond the treated area, burning, severe itching and peeling.
Storage
Store below 25 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
