Levozal film-coated tablets contain 5 mg of levocetirizine dihydrochloride per tablet, in a pack of 20. Levocetirizine is an antihistamine medicine used to treat allergy symptoms.
Indications
- Allergic rhinitis, including persistent allergic rhinitis.
- Hives (urticaria).
How to Use
- Dose and directions: follow the enclosed leaflet or the pharmacist's instructions.
- Not recommended for children under 6.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to levocetirizine, cetirizine, hydroxyzine or any ingredient of the product.
- Severe kidney disease requiring dialysis.
Warnings & Precautions
- Consult a doctor if you have difficulty emptying the bladder, such as from an enlarged prostate or spinal cord injury, or if you have epilepsy or are at risk of seizures.
- People with renal impairment may need a lower dose determined by a doctor.
- Use caution with alcohol or medicines affecting the brain. It may cause drowsiness or tiredness, so take care when driving or operating machinery.
- Tell the doctor before allergy tests, as it may need to be stopped several days beforehand.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: seek a doctor's or pharmacist's advice before use.
Common Side Effects
- Dry mouth, headache, tiredness and drowsiness.
- Stop use and consult a doctor straightaway at the first signs of allergy, such as swelling of the mouth, tongue, face or throat, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or hives.
Storage
Store below 30 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
