Nurofen Pediatric Suspension is an oral suspension containing 100 mg of ibuprofen per 5 ml, in one pack. Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory pain reliever that reduces fever and relieves pain.
Indications
- Fever, including fever after vaccinations.
- Relief of cold and flu symptoms.
- Mild to moderate pain, such as toothache, earache, sore throat, headache and minor sprains.
How to Use
- For children: follow the patient leaflet and consult a pharmacist.
- Not suitable for infants under 3 months or weighing less than 5 kg.
- Do not continue without medical advice for more than 24 hours in infants aged 3 to 6 months, or more than 3 days in older children.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to ibuprofen, or asthma, rash or swelling after aspirin or anti-inflammatory pain relievers.
- A current stomach ulcer or bleeding, or a history of recurrent ulcers or bleeding.
- Severe kidney, heart or liver impairment.
Warnings & Precautions
- Consult a doctor before giving it in cases of asthma, heart, kidney or liver disease, or chronic inflammatory bowel disease.
- Avoid during chickenpox.
- Pregnancy: do not use in the last three months, or in the first six months except under a doctor's direction.
Common Side Effects
- Most common: stomach irritation with indigestion or heartburn.
- Stop use and consult a doctor immediately in case of black stools, vomiting blood or a severe rash with peeling.
Storage
Store below 30 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
