Miragel Oral Gel contains 2% miconazole nitrate, in a 40 g tube. Used for fungal infections of the mouth, throat and oesophagus, with miconazole eliminating infection-causing fungi.
Indications
- Fungal infections of the mouth, throat and oesophagus.
How to Use
- Follow the patient leaflet or the pharmacist's instructions.
- Keep the gel in the mouth as long as possible without swallowing immediately. Use after meals.
- For children: follow the patient leaflet and consult a pharmacist.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to miconazole, any gel ingredient or similar antifungals.
- Liver disease.
- Use of interacting medicines, including terfenadine, cisapride, simvastatin, oral midazolam and ergotamine.
Warnings & Precautions
- Tell a doctor before use if taking warfarin, phenytoin, carbamazepine or sulfonylurea diabetes medicines; treatment adjustment or blood tests may be needed.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: inform a doctor before use.
- Stop and consult a doctor if symptoms persist, worsen or new symptoms develop.
Common Side Effects
- Dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, mouth discomfort, reflux and an unusual taste.
- Stop use and inform a doctor immediately for swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, difficulty swallowing or breathing, hives, severe redness or skin blisters.
Storage
Do not store above 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
