Rumafen topical skin gel contains diclofenac sodium 1% in a 50g tube. Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicine applied to relieve muscle and joint pain, inflammation and swelling.
Indications
- Tendon, ligament, muscle and joint injuries, such as sprains, bruises, strains and back pain after sport or accidents.
- Localised extra-articular rheumatism, such as tendinitis (tennis elbow) and bursitis.
- Symptoms of osteoarthritis in small and medium joints close to the skin surface, such as finger joints and the knee.
How to Use
- For external use on the skin only.
- Adults: follow the enclosed leaflet or pharmacist's directions.
- Children under 12: use only after consulting a doctor.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to diclofenac or other pain and inflammation medicines such as aspirin and ibuprofen, with signs including breathing difficulty, rash, hives and facial swelling.
- The last three months of pregnancy.
Warnings & Precautions
- Do not apply to open wounds or damaged skin, such as eczema or rash. Stop immediately if a rash develops.
- Do not use over large skin areas for a prolonged period without a prescription, or cover with a tight dressing.
- Keep away from eyes and mucous membranes. Do not swallow.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: use during the first six months of pregnancy or while breastfeeding only on a doctor's prescription.
Common Side Effects
- Common effects: skin rash, itching, redness and burning.
- Stop use and tell a doctor immediately if a blistering rash or hives, wheezing and chest tightness, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat develops.
Storage
Store below 30 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
