Silkplast Adhesive Tape Roll 7.5 cm A medical synthetic-fabric tape, 7.5 cm wide, made by Pharmaplast in Egypt to secure dressings, gauze, catheter and drainage tubes to skin. The pack states 7.5 cm × 5 yards (approximately 4.5 m), one roll in a cardboard box.
Key Features
- Hypoallergenic adhesive gentle on skin.
- A durable fabric easily torn by hand without scissors, speeding dressing changes.
- Allows air and water vapour through for greater skin comfort underneath.
- 7.5 cm width suits large dressings and securing gauze on limbs, back and abdomen.
- Less painful to remove than strong fabric tapes, suitable for delicate older skin.
How to Use
- Clean and thoroughly dry skin; oils and creams weaken adhesion.
- Place dressing or gauze first, then hand-tear a suitable tape length.
- Apply to intact skin around the dressing without excessive tension and gently press to secure.
- Slowly remove parallel to the skin surface while supporting skin with the other hand.
Who Is It For?
For home and car first-aid kits, carers changing patient or older-person dressings regularly, and health centres needing wide tape to secure dressings and tubes.
Precautions
- Single use. Do not reuse after removal.
- Do not apply directly to open wounds or use on inflamed or pus-producing wounds without medical supervision.
- Discontinue if redness or itching develops at the site.
- Store in a dry place away from heat.
