ASPICARD enteric-coated tablets contain 81 mg of acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) per tablet, in a pack of 120 tablets. An antiplatelet medicine that reduces the likelihood of blood clot formation.
Indications
- Use only as directed by a doctor. Do not start taking it daily without medical advice.
- Long-term preventive treatment under a doctor's supervision.
- This low dose is not intended to relieve headache, fever or joint pain.
How to Use
- Dose: follow the patient leaflet or the pharmacist's instructions.
- Take at the same time each day as directed by a doctor, and swallow without crushing or breaking to preserve the enteric coating.
- Do not give to people under 18 years old unless directed by a doctor.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Taking other products containing aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
- Allergy to aspirin, salicylates or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
- Current or previous ulcers, or a tendency to bleed.
- Active or severe liver or kidney disease, and congestive heart failure.
- The last three months of pregnancy.
Warnings & Precautions
- May cause severe stomach bleeding. Signs include fainting, vomiting blood or black stools.
- Consult a doctor if you have asthma or high blood pressure, or are aged 60 or older.
- Do not use ibuprofen or naproxen with it without advice, as they may reduce its preventive effect.
- Do not give to people under 18 with chickenpox or flu symptoms before consulting a doctor, due to the risk of Reye's syndrome.
- Pregnancy during the first six months and breastfeeding: consult a doctor first.
Common Side Effects
- Contact a doctor if nausea, vomiting, stomach pain or easy bruising occurs.
- Stop use and seek medical help immediately if vomiting blood, black stools, facial swelling or difficulty breathing occurs.
Storage
Store below 25 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
