Canesten Solution 1% is a topical skin solution containing clotrimazole 1%, in one pack. This antifungal treats fungal skin infections and is particularly suitable for hairy areas of skin.
Indications
- Fungal skin infections such as ringworm, athlete's foot and infections of skin folds.
- Fungal infections of the outer ear, after diagnosis by a doctor and under medical supervision.
How to Use
- For skin infections, apply a thin layer to the affected area two or three times daily. A few drops are sufficient for an area the size of the palm.
- For ear infections, use in the ear only as directed by a doctor.
- Continue treatment for at least two weeks after signs of infection have cleared to prevent recurrence.
- For children: follow the patient leaflet and consult a pharmacist.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to clotrimazole or any solution ingredient.
Warnings & Precautions
- For external use only. Do not swallow.
- If it gets into the eyes or mouth, rinse immediately with water and consult a doctor.
- A heat-producing reaction may occur with Sofradex drops. Consult a doctor before using them together in the ear.
- It may be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding after informing a doctor. If applied to the nipple, wash it before breastfeeding.
- Consult a doctor if symptoms do not improve.
Common Side Effects
- Itching, burning, irritation, redness or peeling of the skin may occur after use.
- Stop use and consult a doctor immediately if an allergic reaction occurs, such as a rash, difficulty swallowing or breathing, or swelling of the face or throat.
Storage
Store below 25 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
