Decozal 0.05% metered-dose nasal spray contains xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.05% in one bottle. It constricts blood vessels in the nasal lining to reduce swelling and congestion.
Indications
- Relieving nasal-lining congestion in colds, allergic rhinitis and episodes of a runny nose.
- Helping drainage of secretions in sinusitis and catarrhal middle-ear inflammation associated with colds.
How to Use
- This strength is intended for children and is used under adult supervision.
- For children: follow the patient leaflet and consult a pharmacist.
- Do not use for children under two years or for more than 7 consecutive days.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to xylometazoline or any ingredient.
- After transnasal pituitary surgery.
- Narrow-angle glaucoma or chronic rhinitis with severe dryness.
Warnings & Precautions
- Do not use if there is high blood pressure, heart disease, an overactive thyroid or diabetes.
- Do not use with MAO inhibitors or within 14 days of stopping them.
- Prolonged or excessive use may cause chronic congestion of the nasal lining.
- Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Common Side Effects
- Common effects: headache, dryness or discomfort of the nasal lining, sneezing, nausea and burning at the application site.
- Tell a doctor or pharmacist immediately if too much is used or it is accidentally swallowed.
Storage
Store below 30 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
