HISTOP tablets contain chlorpheniramine maleate 4 mg in a pack of 20 tablets. An antihistamine that blocks the effect of histamine released by the body during an allergic reaction.
Indications
- Allergy symptoms such as hay fever, a runny nose, hives (urticaria) and itching.
- Reactions to insect bites or stings, and food or medicine allergies.
How to Use
- Follow the patient leaflet or the pharmacist's instructions.
- Do not use in children under 6 years.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- A previous allergy to a medicine containing chlorpheniramine or any ingredient.
- Taking monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) antidepressants within the last fourteen days.
Warnings & Precautions
- Consult a doctor before use if you have severe high blood pressure, epilepsy, heart, liver or kidney disease, glaucoma, an enlarged prostate, asthma or bronchitis.
- Consult a doctor before combining with other antihistamines, including cold and cough medicines. Sedatives increase its sleep-inducing effect, and it may increase the effect of phenytoin.
- Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel drowsy or dizzy or have blurred vision. Avoid alcohol while taking it.
- Children and older people are more affected by its side effects. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
Common Side Effects
- Refer to the enclosed package leaflet for possible side effects and consult a pharmacist if an unusual symptom develops.
- Stop use and consult a doctor for severe allergy, difficulty urinating or unexplained bruising and bleeding.

Store below 30 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
