Sapofen Junior is an oral suspension containing 100 mg of ibuprofen per 5 ml (20 mg/ml), in one pack. Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine used to relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce fever.
Indications
- Mild to moderate pain, such as headache, earache, sore throat, toothache and muscle pain.
- Fever, including fever after vaccination, and cold and flu symptoms.
How to Use
- Dose: follow the patient leaflet or the pharmacist's instructions.
- For children: follow the patient leaflet and consult a pharmacist.
- Do not give to infants under 3 months or weighing less than 5 kg.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to ibuprofen, or an allergic reaction or wheezing after aspirin or anti-inflammatory pain relievers.
- A current or previous stomach ulcer or intestinal bleeding.
- Severe kidney, heart or liver problems.
Warnings & Precautions
- Consult your doctor before use in cases of asthma, high blood pressure, chickenpox, or kidney or liver problems.
- May mask signs of infection. Consult a doctor without delay if fever or pain persists or worsens.
- Consult a doctor if use is needed for more than 3 days in children aged 6 months or older, or if symptoms worsen or persist for more than 24 hours in infants aged 3 to 5 months.
- Kidney function may be affected when given to a dehydrated child.
Common Side Effects
- Common: dizziness or tiredness, gas, diarrhoea, constipation and headache.
- Stop use and seek medical help immediately if blood in the stools, black stools or vomiting blood occurs.
Storage
Store below 30 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
