Moxal oral suspension from Julphar combines two antacids, aluminium hydroxide 405 mg and magnesium hydroxide 100 mg according to the Authority's registration, in one pack. It is used to relieve indigestion and symptoms caused by excess stomach acidity.
Indications
- Indigestion.
- Occasional relief of excess acidity associated with gastritis or peptic ulcer.
- Oesophageal reflux with heartburn.
How to Use
- For adults: 10 to 20 ml four times daily after meals and at bedtime.
- Not recommended for children under 12 years.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Known allergy to aluminium hydroxide or magnesium hydroxide.
Warnings & Precautions
- Consult a doctor before use with gastrointestinal bleeding, heart failure or oedema, a low-sodium diet or high blood pressure.
- Also consult a doctor with liver cirrhosis or kidney failure.
- It reduces absorption of other medicines taken at the same time, such as iron, tetracycline, ciprofloxacin, ketoconazole and phenytoin. Ask a pharmacist about appropriate timing.
- Pregnancy: sufficient safety data are unavailable; consult a doctor before use.
Common Side Effects
- Constipation, a chalky taste in the mouth and stomach cramps.
- May slow bowel movements; consult a doctor if constipation becomes severe.
Storage
Store below 30 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
