MUCOSOLVAN tablets contain 30 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride per tablet, in a pack of 20 tablets. They are used when secretions or thick mucus accumulate in the airways, helping thin the mucus and clear the chest.
Indications
- Conditions involving secretions or thick phlegm in the airways, to thin it and make removal easier.
How to Use
- For adults: one tablet three times daily, or alternatively two tablets twice daily.
- Swallow the tablet whole with plenty of fluid, with or without food.
- Consult a doctor if symptoms worsen or do not improve after 4–5 days.
- For children: follow the patient leaflet and consult a pharmacist.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to ambroxol hydrochloride or any tablet ingredient.
Warnings & Precautions
- Stop use and consult a doctor immediately if a skin rash or sores in the mouth, throat, nose, eyes or genitals appear, because severe skin reactions are possible.
- Do not use with impaired kidney function or severe liver disease except with medical advice.
- Use with cough suppressants may cause dangerous accumulation of secretions, particularly in conditions such as cystic fibrosis or bronchiectasis.
- Do not use during pregnancy, particularly the first trimester. Use during breastfeeding is not recommended.
Common Side Effects
- Common: nausea. Uncommon: vomiting, diarrhoea, indigestion, abdominal pain and fever.
- Stop use at the first sign of an allergic reaction and consult a doctor.
Storage
Store below 25 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
