Buscopan 10 mg tablets contain hyoscine butylbromide 10 mg, in a pack of 20. They belong to the antispasmodic medicine group.
Indications
- Relief of muscle spasms in the stomach, intestines, bladder and urinary tract.
- Relief of irritable bowel syndrome symptoms.
How to Use
- Follow the patient leaflet or the pharmacist's instructions.
- Swallow tablets with water without breaking or chewing. Do not take continuously for long periods.
- Not recommended for children under 6. For older children, follow the enclosed leaflet and consult a pharmacist.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to hyoscine butylbromide or any ingredient, glaucoma and myasthenia gravis.
- Suspected or confirmed bowel obstruction, bowel paralysis or severe megacolon.
- Pregnancy or possible pregnancy, and breastfeeding.
Warnings & Precautions
- Consult a doctor first for heart disease or a rapid heartbeat, an overactive thyroid, difficulty urinating, constipation or fever.
- See a doctor straightaway for unexplained abdominal pain that persists or worsens, especially with fever, vomiting or blood in the stool.
- Tell a doctor if taking tricyclic antidepressants, antihistamines or antipsychotics.
- Vision may be disturbed; do not drive until it returns to normal.
Common Side Effects
- Dry mouth, increased or reduced sweating, rapid heartbeat, and rarely urinary retention.
- Stop use and see a doctor straightaway for allergy, difficulty breathing, or eye pain and redness with impaired vision.
Storage
Store below 25 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
