Scopinal coated tablets each contain 10 mg hyoscine butylbromide, in a pack of 20. An antispasmodic medicine.
Indications
- Relief of stomach and intestinal muscle cramps.
- Relief of bladder and urinary tract cramps.
- Relief of irritable bowel syndrome symptoms.
How to Use
- Follow the patient leaflet or the pharmacist's instructions.
- Swallow with water without breaking, crushing or chewing. Do not use continuously for prolonged periods.
- For children: follow the leaflet and consult a pharmacist. Not recommended under age six.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to hyoscine butylbromide or any ingredient.
- Glaucoma or myasthenia gravis.
- Confirmed or suspected bowel obstruction, intestinal paralysis or severe megacolon.
- Pregnancy or possible pregnancy, and breastfeeding.
Warnings & Precautions
- Consult a doctor before use for overactive thyroid, difficulty urinating, constipation, fever, fast pulse or heart disease.
- Consult a doctor immediately if unexplained abdominal pain persists or worsens, or accompanies fever, vomiting or blood in the stool.
- Tell a doctor if taking tricyclic antidepressants, antihistamines or metoclopramide.
- May cause visual disturbance. Do not drive until vision returns to normal.
Common Side Effects
- The leaflet lists uncommon effects including dry mouth, altered sweating and rapid heartbeat.
- Stop use and consult a doctor immediately for an allergic reaction such as hives or difficulty breathing, or eye pain and redness with reduced vision.
Storage
Store below 25 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
