Scopinal Syrup contains hyoscine butylbromide 5 mg per 5 ml, in a 100 ml pack. It is an antispasmodic that relaxes contracted stomach and intestinal muscles.
Indications
- Relief of stomach and intestinal muscle spasms in conditions involving digestive tract cramping.
How to Use
- Dose: follow the patient leaflet or the pharmacist's instructions.
- For children: follow the patient leaflet and consult a pharmacist.
- Do not take continuously every day or for long periods without identifying the cause of pain. Consult your doctor if symptoms worsen or do not improve within 3 days.
Do Not Use In The Following Cases
- Allergy to hyoscine butylbromide or any ingredient.
- Myasthenia gravis, suspected or confirmed intestinal obstruction, or severe megacolon.
- Glaucoma, an enlarged prostate, fever, a rapid heartbeat or porphyria.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Warnings & Precautions
- Seek medical advice immediately for severe, unexplained, persistent abdominal pain, or pain with fever, vomiting or blood in the stool.
- Consult your doctor before use for heart problems, difficulty urinating, or impaired liver or kidney function.
- It may interact with antihistamines, tricyclic antidepressants and metoclopramide; tell the pharmacist about your medicines.
- It may temporarily blur vision; do not drive until vision returns to normal.
Common Side Effects
- Dry mouth, reduced sweating and dry skin.
- Stop use and consult your doctor immediately for eye pain and redness with impaired vision, or a severe allergic reaction.
Storage
Store below 25 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
